We do not sell hatching eggs or chicks, only adult pairs and well started silkies. We also do not sell pullets or hens by themselves, only in pairs with a male and occasionally in trios. We have some silkies listed on eggbid.com right now, they can be seen here:

This is great, and we encourage silkies as pets, because they are sweet-natured chickens, their eggs are a bonus, and they are generally very good with children. However, the silkies we raise are from exhibition stock, so they tend to have large crests (which inhibits their vision), heavily feathered feet (which can attract a lot of mud) and very full round bodies that can't move quickly from a predator. Because of this, our birds aren't the best birds to be kept in a free range flock. Also, they aren't cheap! Our pet quality silkies sell for $20, and go up in price, depending on quality, to $100+ each for show quality birds. That would be a very expensive lunch for a predator! Therefore, if you are just looking for some sweet silkies to have in the backyard, you will do better to purchase chicks from a local hatchery, or from a breeder who is not breeding exhibition stock. The resulting birds will have smaller crests that don't inhibit vision, less feathering on the feet, and smaller bodies that enable quicker movement. Chicks from a hatchery will cost about $3 each, and from a pet quality breeder - probably less than $10 each.
